For most travelers in their 20s all over the world, voyaging to Asia has become a staple in one’s bucket list. But for the dudes whose sole purpose besides living is surfing (we’re exaggerating… or maybe not), flying half across the globe to see what it’s like to surf in the southeast Asian waters is more of a travel requisite. From Bali, to Phuket, to Siargao—name it—the southeast’s got it all.

Among Thailand’s many cities, Phuket is one of the most accessible tourist spots out there (you can take direct flights from the UK!).
2. Kuta Beach, Bali, Indonesia
Fun fact: the waves here are considered one of the best in the world!
3. Bamboo Island, Sihanoukville, Cambodia

June to October, so make sure to visit around this time of the year!

Fun fact: bai dai literally means “long beach”, and is said to be Vietnam’s longest beach out there.
5. Mentawai Islands, Sumatra, Indonesia
Just like Bamboo Island, the biggest swells occur during rainy season (June to September).
6. Cloud 9, Siargao, Philippines
7. Lombok Islands, Indonesia
Fun fact: the Lombok area is the more quiet and peaceful part of Indonesia compared to the surfing spots in Bali.
